Challenges as a Coffee Farmer
While many people around the world rely on coffee to start their day, few realize the impact their coffee habits have on farmers in South America, Asia, and Africa. These farmers often live in poverty and face unethical business practices and human rights abuses. The free market system, with its brokers, middle-men, and agents, perpetuates low prices and pits farmers against each other, causing entire coffee farming communities to disappear.
My commitment to our farming community is unwavering. I strive to ensure that our farmers enjoy equal opportunities, a safe and healthy work environment, and are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity. To combat these challenges, we need a sustained education campaign aimed at consumers. By informing them about the realities of coffee production, we can encourage the purchase of ethically sourced coffee and help eliminate unethical business practices.
What Coffee
Means to Me
After spending three decades in the oil and gas industry, transitioning to coffee, the second most traded agricultural product, felt like a natural choice. Coffee is a complex drink, with so much to learn about its biology, growing and processing methods, roasting techniques, flavors, and brewing.
For me, coffee is a lifelong passion and a retirement project that brings immense joy.
Marathi Movie Director Vijay Dutt told his Music Director Dhananjay Dhumal that he wanted only natural voices of Birds for the Movie “Machivarla Budha” based on GN Dandekar’s novel. Dhumal travelled 1800 kms through the jungles of Lonavala, Arnala, Tryambakeshvar and Satara. He collected 25 GB of data, edited and prepared this Bird Song. This does not have Music of any instrument and is 100% natural. Enjoy this ecstatic Music most of which was recorded in the morning.
